May 11^th we are going hiking at Mt. Parnitha!

We will meet at the Mt. Parnitha cable car base station at 9:45 on Saturday morning May 11th. At 10:00 firm, we will start walking and take the path that leads to Bafi refuge (approx. 3 hours walking, 6 km). We will then take our lunch and relax at Bafi refuge. Around 15:00 we plan to take the path that leads to the upper station of the cable car (approx. 50 min.), and then take the cable car to go back down to the base station where we left our cars.

If for any reason the cable car is not in operation, we will take the same path back down the mountain starting our descent maybe a little earlier. For those that want to come to Bafi refuge and meet with us but not walk up, they can go there directly by car. We estimate to be there around 13:00.

Suggested items for the walk: Hiking boots or good athletic shoes that are worn in. Light cotton pants, synthetic (running) shirt, (not cotton as it holds all the sweat), Light fleece or blouse, Light rain jacket, Small backpack, Water bottle (at least 1 lt.), Hat, sunscreen, light snack, charged mobile phone, walking sticks (optional but they help..).

Mt Parnitha is a very popular mountain visited by many people. Nevertheless, we are going to be walking on a path that goes deep into the mountain and its not accessible by car on its larger part. This means that we have to move together as a team and people are not supposed to break from the group for any reason. This means that everybody that wishes to join us must do so at their own responsibility having the personal knowledge that they have the proper fitness to follow along. Children are welcome as long as they are at least 10 years old, at their parents' responsibility, who must have the knowledge beforehand if they are able to do the walk.

The hike will be confirmed three days before the event when we have a proper assessment of weather on the day of the event.
